UN-Habitat is thrilled to announce the winners of the My Urban Vision digital art competition, a global initiative aimed at inspiring and engaging young creatives in envisioning the cities of the future.

Youth are more than just voices of the future, they are key players in today’s urban development.

The Our City Plans initiative recognizes this and places youth at the forefront of sustainable urban development. But how can young changemakers and youth-led organizations harness this power to make a real impact? The answer lies in the Our City Plans toolbox, a dynamic resource designed to empower young leaders to take the reins of their communities' futures.

Participatory urban planning might sound like a complex task, but with the right tools, it can be a transformative journey for your city.

Enter the Our City Plans toolbox by UN-Habitat—a comprehensive, flexible resource that can adapted to your city’s unique context and create effective urban plans that address local challenges and opportunities. Here’s your go-to guide to get started and make the most out of this powerful tool.

At Our City Plans, we recognize the critical need to integrate climate change considerations into urban planning to build resilient and sustainable cities. Our framework, guided by UN-Habitat’s Environmental and Social Safeguard System (ESSS), provides cities with comprehensive tools to address climate risks and implement effective climate action strategies. Within our toolbox, we have a "Climate Action" theme that allows users to filter components specifically related to climate action by simply checking the box.

Participation lies at the heart of effective urban planning, empowering communities to shape their neighbourhoods and cities. Our City Plans recognizes the importance of inclusive decision-making and has developed a toolbox to promote participation in urban planning processes.
