Our City Plans is coming to WUF 11 in Katowice

Eleventh Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF11)

The Eleventh edition of the World Urban Forum (WUF) – the world’s premier conference on urban issues organised by UN-Habitat – will be hosted by Poland in the City of Katowice between June 26th and 30th. Being UN-Habitat's second most downloaded publication, Our City Plans will be presented at several events, both online and in-person in the Silesian city.

Launch of Our City Plans Digital Platform
The highlight of Our City Plans participation in the Forum will be the launch of this digital platform. This will take place on Tuesday 28th at 12:30 at the UN-Habitat Arena of WUF. Our City Plans Digital Platform aids users to customise their planning process, offering the opportunity to freely navigate through Our City Plans toolbox and adjust planning processes according to their needs, objectives and available resources. During the launching event, the team will present the first version of the digital tool and its different functionalities. We will showcase how to easily navigate the interactive step-by-step activities, download the tools and templates or use them online.

Our City Plans team will demonstrate one of the main features of the digital platform – a questionnaire that can help cities customise their planning process. The interactive demo will allow the audience to follow the steps of one of the cities that has already implemented the methodology.

Partner-Led Events at WUF11
WUF visitors will have the chance to get acquainted with Our City Plans in another event hosted by our partners. The methodology will be presented in a Networking Event hosted by The Prince’s Foundation, New York University Marron Institute for Urban Management, UN-Habitat, Architecture Sans Frontières UK (ASF-UK) and the Sierra Leone Urban Research Centre (SLURC). This will take place on Tuesday 28th at 16:30 in Room 19. Three innovative planning tools that help cities to respond to the urgent challenges of our time will be presented. The tools will include UN-Habitat’s Our City Plans, The Prince’s Foundation’s Rapid Planning Toolkit for Urban Expansion and the Community Planning Toolkit by ASF-UK with SLURC, and they will be showcased with real project experiences.
